Great shorts but sizing was off

I love, love, love the thin fabric and the classic, old-school design of these shorts (especially the thin waistband). My only issue was the sizing was a little off--M in these was way too small for me, but the M in the 3" split shorts I also bought fit great. Looking forward to receiving my exchange and hoping the L will fit.
